Dear Momma,

Zach Hunter is a 19 year old freshman at Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. Here, he writes a Mother’s Day note to his mother, Dr. Paula Berardinelli, who lives in Zach’s hometown of Raleigh, NC.

The woman I call mom is the most motivational, inspirational, beautiful, strong, determined, loving, get shit done person I have had the privilege to meet.  She has given me an insight on being a man that few men have the opportunity, and it is something that I truly appreciate.  Her patience and guidance through thick and thin have taught me lessons about trust and communication.  With her love and support I am the man I am today.  To quote another man who felt similar about his momma, I share Tupac’s lyrics from his song “Dear Momma”.

And all my childhood memories
Are full of all the sweet things you did for me
And even though I act craaazy
I gotta thank the Lord that you made me
There are no words that can express how I feel
You never kept a secret, always stayed real
And I appreciate, how you raised me
And all the extra love that you gave me

Love you mom, can’t wait to see you!
